The challenge

A multi-vendor marketplace must keep its website, customer application, seller application, and backend business rules aligned. Product prices can change after an order is placed, seller packages have different limits, and commission calculations depend on marketplace rules. At the same time, customers need reliable product discovery and consistent access to their order information across platforms.

The approach

Coded Views works with Laravel, MySQL, and API-driven application architecture to support the marketplace website and its connected mobile applications. The development approach focuses on reusable backend logic, accurate order calculations, structured database relationships, configurable seller rules, and integrations that support the platform beyond its web interface.

The solution

The project covers several connected areas of development: - Marketplace development: Product functionality, order workflows, seller management, and administrative operations within the Laravel application. - Customer and seller app APIs: Backend endpoints and data workflows that connect mobile applications with marketplace products, orders, and related business functionality. - Order accuracy: Improvements to order calculations and historical purchase details so past orders can retain the relevant purchase prices rather than relying on subsequently changed product prices. - Seller packages: Subscription rules, package limits, and configurable subscription durations to support seller account management. - Commission management: Category-based commission rules covering main categories, subcategories, and child categories. - AI-powered visual product search: Image embedding and vector search using CLIP and Qdrant to support product discovery based on visual similarity. - Ongoing backend improvements: Maintenance and refinement of existing application logic, database operations, and connected marketplace workflows.

Outcome

Coded Views has contributed to an interconnected e-commerce solution spanning the web marketplace, customer and seller mobile API services, seller management, order processing, and visual product discovery. The project demonstrates experience with complex Laravel business logic, mobile backend integration, database consistency, subscription management, commission systems, and AI-based search capabilities.
